202nd Movie Review: Black Swan

Holy shit! it’s just the start of the year and we already have a marvelous film for the year! Do you want to be perfect, so perfect, that you’re willing to die? Well, Natalie Portman did just that. If she doesn’t win the Oscar for best actress, I don’t think it would be fair.

“A ballet dancer wins the lead in “Swan Lake” and is perfect for the role of the delicate White Swan – Princess Odette – but slowly loses her mind as she becomes more and more like Odette’s evil sister, Odile, the Black Swan.”‘

Portman was perfect! Her dedication for her role was not only astonishing, but also unexpected. Never have I imagined that she would agree to masturbate on screen, go nude, and have a lesbian scene with Mila Kunis, whose performance was also worthy of an Oscar nod. Both of them were able to transform a movie that seemed like only a select few will watch into a 100-minute feature film worthy of an Oscar. The cinematography and editing is praise-worthy. Director Darren Aronofsky must be so proud.

The best thing about this movie was that the sex scenes seemed more necessary than a nuisance or an add-on meant to spark interest. I heard about Portman and Kunis’ lesbian scene, but I didn’t imagine it to be that good. It almost seemed like a real porn scene. Now that’s what you call art.

Overall, Black Swan will be one of those movies that is able to stand out even if it won’t win the Oscars. Much like Avatar or the Dark Knight, this is a movie I will consider as a CLASSIC.
