284th Movie Review: The Lord of the Rings – The Two Towers

A solid sequel that does the original film justice

The Two Towers isn’t the best sequel ever, but it has enough moments to warrant a good reaction for me. With the guidance of Peter Jackson, the franchise is basically an Oscar bait with no major problems that can be pointed out. But once again, the screen time was the biggest issue. This is a good example of a movie that could’ve been split into two, because by the third hour you’ll be contemplating if you really want some more Middle-earth goodness or you just want to take a break. But the cast was once again superb – with Gollum, Gimli, Sam and Legolas being my favorites for this act.
