Movie Review #303: Tucker and Dale Vs. Evil

An intelligent hillbilly movie you’ve never seen before

There’s something about Tucker and Dale Vs. Evil that I don’t see in comedies these days: sincerity. Likability of characters and uniqueness are other notable qualities as well. Luckily the film has those too. I like the way the movie introduced Tucker (Alan Tudyk) and Dale (Tyler Labine) as the typical “bad guys”, and then we get to see how the two feel themselves about being branded as scary. Their attempts at showing their non-hostility towards others were hilarious and makes the rather simple plot quite ingenious. I am also particularly fond of Katrina Bowden, the lead actress who played Allison. Together the three leads pile up some of the wittiest lines a hillbilly movie can muster. Rarely will you be able to see a one-of-a-kind movie like this so I suggest you go see it if it’s available.
