Mini-Movie Review: Man of Steel

It’s a different approach, but isn’t all that interesting

The most important thing I took away from watching this Superman reboot was that no matter how much they try to keep the iconic character grounded and give him a sense of humanity, he still seems lifeless, indestructible, and rather uninteresting. I don’t know if it’s the fault of Henry Cavill, the script he had to work on or the direction of Sucker Punch helmer Zack Snyder, but the final outcome from it all was a superhero that didn’t exude a charisma most lead characters required, at least for me. And no amount of visual effects or over-the-top Hans Zimmer scores can conceal that for a hundred and fifty minutes.
